An Ice Cream Adventure

Have you ever done something outside the box? I work in the Human Resources department at Mayfield Dairy Farms, and as part of the HR initiative, our team has been asked to work outside of our department for 8 hours per quarter. I wanted to do something fun while also learning the Sales and Marketing side of our business, so I chose to help with Ice Cream Day in Knoxville, TN on Thursday, July 19. I had no idea what to expect as I donned my "Mayfield Mom" T-shirt and joined the rest of the Mayfield Mom's to help serve Mayfield's four new ice cream flavors to the town of Knoxville. I couldn't believe the crowds lining up as we prepared to scoop! Several dignitaries were there (including Maggie the cow) as Rob Mayfield officially declared it "Ice Cream Day." Around 6,000 people were served that hot July day! I have great respect for the Mayfield Mom's. Not only do they endure heat, sore feet, arms and hands but somehow they manage to keep on smiling!
