On Sunday, we started our year at Williams-Sonoma (Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta) with a ribbon cutting ceremony as they were celebrating their re-grand opening. The store has been remodeled and is absolutely beautiful. They have also hired a recent graduate and a student from the local Culinary School. We Moms felt so privileged to be working along side real chefs. They were very interested in Nurture and wanted to be our first samplers.
The two chefs already had a turkey in the oven, stuffing, cranberry and apple relish and cranberry squares for dessert (Chef Chris said to top with a scoop of Mayfield Vanilla Ice Cream). We Mayfield Moms made roasted garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. The aroma in the store was wonderful, and it drew people in like a magnet. We served 500 people a little taste of Thanksgiving.
One little girl came over and asked me for ice cream as she thought our creamy looking mashed potatoes were ice cream. She was a little disappointed, but when I asked if she would like a glass of milk, she smiled and said yes. I then gave her an ice cream coupon, too. So she went away quite happy.
Eboni, my fellow Mayfield Mom, just loved using the ricer that riced the potatoes and was so tickled when people asked did you make these delicious potatoes. She was very proud of her contribution (as she should be).
So many people asked us to come cook their Thanksgiving Dinner, so I guess they enjoyed all the goodies.
We had fun cooking and are looking forward to Monday when we make pumpkin pie.
Until next time.
